Being part of a sailing crew instills a feeling of team effort and helps build a strong, competitive and winning spirit! An Team Building adventure creates the perfect atmosphere where sun and sea stimulate the senses. The half-day is custom planned to your requirements and includes exercises that powerfully demonstrate the importance of teamwork, co-operation, leadership and communication in a healthy and enjoyable environment.
Your event begins with a briefing to introduce key sailing concepts and the many parallels between sailing and business. This can take place at your conference venue or aboard the yacht or at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia. Once onboard the yacht, your skipper/facilitator will give an introductory safety briefing and a short lesson on basic sailing skills introduced in the classroom, before allocating the team’s first task. The practical tasks are designed to focus on the aspects of sailing most appropriate to your business and team context.
Your skipper will initiate informal discussions on issues that arise from each exercise, such as problem solving, communication and handling change. At the end of the event the skipper will conduct an overall debrief and waterside presentation.

Sample itinerary
- (Minimum 8 people aboard 1 yacht, 10 aboard 2 yachts)
- Classroom session with tailored course notes (excludes room hire* if required)
- Sailing 3-4 hours aboard our performance fleet of Sydney and Beneteau yachts
- AYF Yachtmaster instructor / facilitator aboard the yacht
- Embroidered team caps
- Soft drinks/water and fruit onboard the yacht
- Full insurance, safety equipment and spray jackets
- Waterside debrief and presentation with beverages
- *CYC room hire excluded (approximately $750).
- Luxury 60ft cruiser moored at d’Albora Marina is an alternative venue at $300, subject to availability.
